Fillings

Cavities are decayed areas on a tooth that has developed into an opening. If left untreated, it could lead to a severe infection or a tooth abscess, destroying the internal structures of the tooth.

A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged from decay. When a dentist gives you a filling, they will remove the decayed material and clean the area before adding a filling into the cavity. By closing this cavity, further decay will be prevented.

We offer two types of dental fillings.

  • Composite resin: Composite resin is a soft material mixed and then moulded into the cavity. It is generally affordable and is the same colour as natural teeth. However, composite fillings are more prone to staining and cracks over time.
  • Ceramic: Porcelain is the most robust and natural filling material available. It provides long-term durability and can also be matched to your natural tooth colour.

Our dentists will determine which type of dental filling is best suited for you based on the extent of the repair and where the damage is located in your mouth.

Endodontic Treatment

Endodontic treatment, otherwise known as root canal treatment, is a dental procedure to save and repair a badly damaged or infected tooth.

Signs that may indicate that you need root canal treatment include:

  • Severe pain in the tooth
  • Inflamed and darkened gums
  • Pimples/swellings on the gums
  • A chip or crack in the tooth
  • Tooth sensitivity to temperature and chewing

Without proper care, the inner layer, known as the dental pulp, will be exposed and could become seriously infected. Infected dental pulp will cause varying pain levels when eating, speaking or during other daily activities. Fortunately, we can help.

A root canal treatment will help remove the infected dental pulp, preventing the spread of the infection to other teeth and helping to relieve pain. This procedure will also help to protect the tooth from further infection. The procedure requires you to be under local anaesthesia but is quick and painless. Root canal procedures may be the sturdy and lasting solution to an infected tooth.

If you notice pain or sensitivity in a tooth, call us and schedule an appointment to see if root canal treatment can help.

Crowns & Veneers

Crowns

If you have a tooth that is broken, chipped, or cracked, a crown can restore the foundations and appearance of this tooth. Crowns are full caps that cover the remaining tooth structure to resemble a natural, healthy-looking tooth.

Situations where crowns are ideal include:

  • Restoring broken or damaged teeth
  • Protection of potentially weak teeth
  • Supporting teeth with large fillings
  • On top of dental implants
  • Covering for cosmetic purposes
  • Holding a bridge in place
  • Patients with a worn-down bite
  • Patients that suffer from severe attrition and abrasion on their teeth.

Veneers

People often try to avoid seeking professional dental treatment and live with damaged or crooked teeth. By avoiding treatment, people only increase the chance of pain or infection. A chipped tooth can risk exposing the inside of the tooth, causing pain when eating, drinking or biting down on something.

If you have chipped, discoloured or crooked teeth and want to change them, then dental veneers may be the solution you are looking for.

Consisting of a thin porcelain shell, dental veneers can blend in with your surrounding teeth for a uniform appearance. While altering your teeth' size, shape and shade, we can also prevent further damage to the tooth's surface.

Veneers are not only necessary for a single tooth but can be used to change the look of a genuine smile. They require no additional care beyond regular brushing, flossing and visits to your dentist.
